Taj Mahal
Skretova 10, Prague 2, Tel. 224 225 566

This is probably Prague's most famous Indian restaurant. There are several large, vibrant rooms tucked into a non-descript building behind the National Museum. The kitchen has not one but several tandoori ovens kept at different temperatures. One produces perfect meats, whilst another bakes fluffy Naan bread. Be sure to try the surprisingly good Indian wines. There is live Indian music every evening. And they have one room that is completely non-smoking.

Dejvicka 6, Prague 6, Tel. 223 344 800,

Haveli is the Hindu name for the private royal residence where special guests can sample the finest of the region's cuisine. You will feel the same, gazing at traditional paintings and lounging on elegant chairs as you enjoy some of the best Indian food in the country. There is also an impressive wine list. This place is easy to find as it's located just across from Hradcanska metro station.

Mikovcova 7, Prague 2, Tel. 224 231 581

This is where the locals and students go. This small restaurant is mostly about takeaway as there are only a few small tables and not much of an ambience. However, the food is good for the very low prices.
